Turkey’s scrap imports increase in October

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's steel scrap imports rose 13.2 percent compared to September and were up 13.8 percent compared to the same month of 2011, amounting to 2 million metric tons.

Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2012 Turkey's scrap imports amounted to 18.9 million mt, increasing by 8.36 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Scrap imports from the the US in the first 10 months of the year amounted to 5.36 million mt, rising by 13 percent year on year.
