In December last year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 745,601 metric tons, decreasing by 4.25 percent year on year and up 6.93 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $433.98 million, decreasing by 5.80 percent compared to December 2012 and up 8.34 percent from the previous month.
On the other hand, in the whole of last year, Turkey's rebar exports stood at 8.06 million metric tons, down 3.43 percent year on year, while the total revenue from these exports amounted to $4.70 billion, decreasing by 9.84 percent as compared to 2012.
Last year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Iraq, which received 1.55 million metric tons, up 24.70 percent year on year. Iraq was followed by the UAE with 1.03 million metric tons and Yemen with 640,969 metric tons. Meanwhile, in the given year, strong decreases were registered in Turkey's supplies to some of its important rebar export destinations, with its rebar supplies to Lebanon down 68.63 percent, with its supplies to Egypt down 55.16 percent, and with Turkish rebar exports to Canada down 51.56 percent, all compared to 2012.
