Turkey’s PPGI exports decrease by 35.2 percent in January-August

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 9,086 mt, increasing by 66.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 26.6 percent year on year, while the revenue from these exports totaled $7.7 million, up 46.4 percent month on month and falling 28 percent compared to the same month of 2015. 
 
During the first eight months of the current year, Turkey’s PPGI exports decreased by 35.2 percent to 52,120 mt, while the revenue from these exports amounted to $45.4 million, down 37.4 percent, both year on year.
 
Bulgaria was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the January-August period, with imports of 8,000 mt of PPGI from Turkey. In the given period, Bulgaria was followed by Libya and Algeria, with Libya’s PPGI imports from Turkey amounting to 3,768 mt, while Algeria received 3,357 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period.
