Turkey's passenger and commercial vehicle falls in August

According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in August this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 50,518 units, decreasing by 16 percent year on year.
 
In August, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 26,132 units - down 10 percent, its commercial vehicle production reached 24,386 units - down 22 percent, while tractor production amounted to 2,035 units - up 98 percent, all compared to June 2010.
 
Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 780,471 units, up 13.5 percent year on year: passenger car output totaled 419,310 units, while commercial vehicle production reached 361,161 units, increasing respectively by 7.7 percent and 21 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2010.
