Turkey's motor vehicle output up nine percent in 2011

According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in December 2011 Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 104,453 units, decreasing by seven percent year on year and up by 3.8 percent over the month of November.
 
In December, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 51,066 units - down 1.3 percent, its commercial vehicle production reached 53,387 units - up 19.3 percent, while tractor production amounted to 3,756 units - down 8.1 percent, all compared to November.
 
Meanwhile, in the whole year of 2011 the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 1,189,131 units, up nine percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given year totaled 639,734 units, while commercial vehicle production reached 549,397 units, increasing respectively by six percent and 12 percent, both compared to 2010.
