Kocaer, one of the main re-rollers and merchant bar producers in Turkey, has taken a series of measures in order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and to protect its employees. In addition, the supplier has decided to temporarily limit its production operations.

The company, capable of over 800,000 mt per year merchant bar output at three rolling lines, is planning to halt two of them for now and continue operations at only one mill, SteelOrbis has learned. “We have taken some measures at some production units … We continue to produce in the departments with strong automation processes and where the labour requirement is minimal,” said Orhan Timurhan, Kocaer’s general manager, cited by local media.
