Turkish long steel producer Izmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. (Izmir Demir) has halted all production for one week, starting from April, 2.

In a letter filed to Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) on April 1, the company stated that the stoppage in production was due to the market conditions. The company said it would be stopping both its melting shop and rolling mill.

Izmir Demir has 1.32 million mt of annual meltshop capacity and 900,000 mt of annual rebar rolling capacity.
