In November last year, Turkey's iron ore imports totaled 802,287 mt, up 10.2 percent month on month and falling by 32.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports decreased by 4.8 percent to $70.64 million compared to the previous month and was down 17.7 percent year on year.
In the January-November period of the last year, Turkey's iron ore imports amounted to 9.75 million mt, up 0.8 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 42.3 percent to $910.7 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's iron ore imports from Brazil stood at 4,048,655 mt, down 15.54 percent year on year. Brazil was followed by Sweden which supplied 1,653,326 mt, while Turkey's iron ore imports from Russia in the given period amounted to 1,337,345 mt.
