Turkey's HRC imports up 11.6 percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 8.1 percent year on year to 231,365 metric tons, down 12.4 percent compared to August, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $95 million, falling by 21.3 percent month on month and down 5.1 percent year on year.

In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 2.85 million mt, rising by 11.6 percent, while the value of these imports decreased by 11.6 percent to $1.02 billion, both compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the January-September period of this year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,158,189 mt, up 8.22 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, followed by Ukraine which shipped 258,484 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
