In September this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 38.4 percent year on year to 122,375 metric tons, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $64.7 million, down 25 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first nine months of this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 1.7 million mt, up 40.6 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 92.31 percent to $881 million, both compared to the same period of 2016.
In the first nine months of the current year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 453,359 mt, followed by Spain which received 388,047 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
