Turkey’s HRC exports to southern Europe show significant rise in Jan-Aug

In August this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 73.48 percent year on year to 54,616 metric tons, while decreasing by 42 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of this export volume totaled $29.93 million, up 45 percent year on year and decreasing by 45.3 percent compared to July. On the other hand, in January-August period of 2013, Turkey's HRC export volume surged by 2.55 fold compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1.01 million mt.


 
In the first eight months of this year, Turkey's HRC exports to Italy rose by almost three times, while the country's HRC exports to Portugal increased by six times in volume, both compared to the corresponding period of 2012. In the meantime, Turkey increased its HRC exports to Spain by four times in January-August 2013, compared to a year ago period.
