Turkey’s HR flat steel exports down 69.54 percent in Dec 2009

According to the statistics provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in December 2009 Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 23,420 metric tons, decreasing by 69.54 percent year on year and down 41.45 percent month on month, due to holidays in the exports market and high local demand. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $15.97 million, declining by 62.51 percent compared to December 2008 and down 25.37 percent month on month.

On the other hand, in 2009, Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports rose 5.37 percent year on year to 893,938 metric tons, totaling a value of $407.41 million, down 47.59 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
