Turkey's leading special steel producer and supplier Hascelik has announced that it has commissioned 60 percent of the HASPARLAK Cold Treatment Center to be completed with a total investment of €30 million at TOSB Taysad Organized Industry Zone in northwestern Turkey.

Accordingly to Hascelik's statement, commissioning has taken place of the peeling line exclusively designed for Hascelik by SMS Schumag AG, one of the leading plantmakers in peeling technology, which can reach a production speed of 50 m/min and produce 15-80 mm steel products with a tolerance range of h9 and maximum straightness deviation of 0.5 mm. The new line will allow the company's peeled product output capacity to increase to 45,000 mt per year.

Another line commissioned at the cold treatment center is the crack control line supplied by German plantmaker Dr. Foerster. The new line can carry out crack controls longitudinally and transversally for 5-60 mm round and 8-65 mm hexagonal cold treated products according to international standards. Hascelik aims to meet demand for 100 percent crack controlled semi-finished bright steel products from customers operating in the automotive, aircraft, home appliance and machinery building industries.

With the completion of the investment, the new cold treatment center will be Europe's state-of-the-art facility with an annual cold treatment capacity of 250,000 mt.

Hascelik operates in seven different cities with nine distribution warehouses and its HASMIL special steel rolling mill with an annual hot rolling capacity of 200,000 mt.
