In the January-October period of this year, finished steel output in Turkey increased by 0.3 percent year on year to 30.9 million mt, according to the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
As stated in the report, in the first ten months of this year Turkey's long product output totaled 22.01 million mt, remaining almost stable, and its flat product output grew by 1.07 percent to 8.89 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
Finished steel consumption in Turkey in the January-October period this year rose by 1.2 percent to 28.9 million mt compared to the same period last year, but this growth was slower compared to the increase rate of 2.1 percent registered in the January-September period of the current year.
In the first ten months of this year, Turkish consumption of long products rose by 1.3 percent to 15 million mt, while consumption of flat steel products increased by 1.2 percent to 13.9 million mt, both year on year. In the mentioned period, 51.9 percent of total finished steel consumption was for long products.
