Turkey’s exports gain momentum in 2005
Turkey's exports posted an average daily value of $190 million from January 1, 2005, through March 23, 2005. The total value of exports reached $15.55 billion during that period, an increase of 25.8% year on year according to data released by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM). Turkey recorded $5.3 billion in exports for January 2005 and $5.73 billion for February 2005. The country is on pace to reach $71 billion in exports for the whole of 2005. The textile sector ranks first among Turkey's exports. Ready-to-wear and clothing sector exports rose 36.76% year on year to $1.17 billion in February. Exports of vehicle and subsidiary industrial products totaled $1.11 billion in February, up 91.85% year on year.Turkey's exports gain momentum in 2005
