Turkey’s Erdemir changes its sales procedure

On May 21, Turkish integrated steelmaker Erdemir announced that it has changed the sales procedure for flat products from its Eregli works (Erdemir) and Iskenderun works (Isdemir), effective as of May 21 for both domestic and export markets.

Accordingly, the company will no longer announce base prices for Erdemir and Isdemir flat products through the company's website, Erdemironline, and sales inquiry entries will not be possible via this website.

Erdemir informed its customers that they should post their inquiries including necessary information via the e-mail address and fax number provided by the company and that a customer representative would return to them.

The company said that it will deliver its written offer following negotiating over volume, measurement, thickness, quality, technical information, shipment, payment and other sales terms.

Erdemir also explained that it will not demand a letter of guarantee in the process of inquiry transmission and negotiation, but that the letter of guarantee will be needed after the conclusion of negotiations, when inquiries become orders.
