On August 22, Kirsehir, Turkey-based foundry Cemas Dokum Sanayi AS (Cemas) posted its consolidated financial and operational results for the first half of 2011, reporting a net profit of TRY4.47 million ($2.5 million).
In the first half of the current year, Cemas' sales revenues rose from TRY 15.9 million in the same period of 2010 to TRY 37.6 million ($21.04 million). Meanwhile, the foundry recorded an operating income of TRY 4.2 million ($2.3 million) for the given period.
In the first six months of 2011, Cemas' output tonnage amounted to 9,917 mt, increasing from 5,606 mt in the first half of 2010, while sales tonnage amounted to 9,680 mt, up 65.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Founded in 1976, Cemas increased its capacity to 25,000 metric tons in 2009, with new investments (DISA and HWS molding lines), and serves local and international markets with gray and pig iron and sphero casting parts for the automotive, durable goods and machinery industries.
