Turkey’s billet exports to Iran quadruple in Jan-Oct

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's steel billet and bloom exports amounted to 350,797 metric tons. In October, the country's steel billet and bloom exports increased by 49.4 percent compared to the previous month and tripled compared to the same month of 2011. The revenue generated by Turkey's steel billet exports in October totaled $205.6 million, increasing 41.6 percent compared to September this year and up 160 percent compared to the same month of 2011.

In the first 10 months of 2012, Turkey's steel billet exports increased by 38.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, rising to 2.6 million metric tons.
 
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months this year, Turkey's steel billet exports to Saudi Arabia doubled on year-on-year basis, amounting to 1.27 million mt, while the country's steel billet exports to Iran almost quadrupled year on year, amounting to 599,397 mt.
