Turkey's basic metals turnover index up 8.1% in Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in September this year increased by 16.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year following the 8.1 percent year-on-year increase recorded in August.

In September, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 8.1 percent year on year and registered a 19.4 percent rise from the previous month, after a fall of 14.7 percent in August compared to July. In September, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, increased 21.7 percent year on year and rose by 28.6 percent from the previous month, after a 16.2 percent decrease in August compared to July.

The turnover of the domestic sales of Turkish basic metals manufacturing increased by 20.33 percent in September, while foreign sales were up by 17.45 percent, both month on month. In the month in question, a 31.98 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the domestic sales turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with foreign sales increasing by 21.11 percent compared to the previous month.
