Turkey-based Asil Celik sees growth in 2014 net profit

Turkish specialty steel producer Asil Celik A.S. (Asil Celik) has announced its financial results for 2014.
 
Asil Celik has reported a net profit of TRY 41.06 million ($16.13 million) for the given year, increasing by 60.3 percent compared to the previous year. Sales revenues of the company increased by 48.4 percent year on year to TRY 769 million ($302 million). The company registered an operating profit of TRY 56.4 million ($22.15 million) in the given period, up 42.4 percent year on year.
 
In 2014, Asil Celik produced 437,253 mt of liquid steel, increasing by 24.9 percent year on year. In the same period, the company's rolled steel output at its large section rolling mill amounted to 206,572 mt, up 23.04 percent, while rolled steel output at its medium section rolling mill was 183,570 mt, up 17.4 percent, both year on year.
 
According to Asil Celik, the company increased both its domestic and export sales in 2014 compared to 2013, while it was negatively affected by low quality steel imports from China, Russia and Ukraine.
