According to a notice to Indiana state officials, Tokusen USA plans to idle its Scottsburg, Indiana, wire facility in the next few months and lay off 62 site employees.

The company, a subsidiary of Tokusen Group of Japan, with US headquarters in Arkansas, made the multimillion-dollar investment in a 300,000 square-foot facility for servicing the solar energy industry in late 2010.

The project was supported at the time with $1.1 million from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation in performance-based tax credits, $75,000 in training grants, and City of Scottsburg property tax abatement benefits.

Tokusen U.S.A, Inc. manufactures wire and wire related products for the automotive industry, as well as the technology and music industries.
