TKS and Angang initiate production at HDG line

German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp Stahl (TKS) and Chinese automotive producer ANSC Angang New Steel have initiated production at their hot dipped galvanizing line in Dalian, northern China. The production was scheduled to start at the end of last summer. However, it has been delayed as a result of supply issues regarding SARS disease. The line has an annual capacity of 400'000 tons. The line's construction has been completed in 2 years at a cost of $180 million. Furthermore, TKS and Angang aim to establish a new service centre in Changchun.
