TISCO granted SA 8000 certification

TISCO granted SA 8000 certification

Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO) is granted Social Accountability (SA) 8000 certification by US-based Social Accountability International (SAI). TISCO is the sole steel company in the world awarded with this certificate. SA 8000 certification is an internationally accredited standard for efficient management of the work place by improving working place conditions. TISCO's Sukinda mine was the first mining operation granted SA 8000 certificate.
