Tight market conditions push Carribean Ispat to hike WR

Officials at Caribbean Ispat indicated tighter market conditions played a major factor in their decision to hike prices on wire-rod. The firm implemented wire-rod price increases of up to $25/mt for the U.S. market effective, April 19. New increases are in addition to a $35/mt increase that took effect in February 2002 for new orders from April 1. Caribbean Ispat is the Trinidad and Tobago subsidiary of Ispat International.
