ThyssenKrupp to increase its steel capacity in China

German steel producer ThyssenKrupp AG has recently announced that it is planning to increase its steel production capacity in China to 700'000 tons, with an increase of tenfold by the end of 2004. The officials state that the expansion project is related with the growth in the sectors of construction, automotive and household goods in China. It is also stated that, ThyssenKrupp will increase the capacity of its high-grade steel joint venture, located in Shanghai to around 280'000 tons by the end of 2004.
