The personnel committee of the supervisory board of German steelmaker Thyssenkrupp has recommended the replacement of its chief executive officer Guido Kerkhoff, who has been in the position since last year, and the termination of his term of office on the management board as chairman, according to an announcement by Thyssenkrupp.

The company wants to replace Guido Kerkhoff with Martina Merz as chairwoman of the management board on an interim basis, for 12 months at most. In addition to that, Siegfried Russwurm has been recommended by Thyssenkrupp for the chairmanship of the supervisory board from Merz, also on an interim basis, after Merz’s acceptance of the chairmanship of the management board.

The supervisory board will discuss these recommendations and will make a decision in an extraordinary meeting.
