Tata BlueScope Steel, a joint venture company between Indian steelmaker Tata Steel and Australian steel producer BlueScope Steel, has placed an order with Siemens VAI for the supply of a color coated line and also a hot dip zincalume (metal coating line) for its Jharkand, India-based facility.
Under the contract, Siemens will also be responsible for engineering, erection and commissioning of the lines in question.
The color coated line, which will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 mt, is expected to be commissioned at the end of 2009, while the hot dip zincalume line with an annual production capacity of 250,000 mt is scheduled to start production in 2010.
The current contract is worth a medium double-digit million euro figure.
