On September 23, Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Stainless Steel Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Hebei Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd successfully commenced production using its new 1600 mm stainless steel slab concaster.
The project in question, construction on which began on March 8, 2007, costs an investment of $1 billion and is targeting an annual production capacity of 600,000 mt of stainless steels.
