On October 4, Hebei Province-based Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd. (Tanggang) commenced trial production of galvalume steel coil at its new HDG line. In the first trial batch, a total of 3,000 metric tons of 0.58 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm specifications was produced.

Tanggang's new No.3 continuous hot dipped galvanized coil line  has a designed annual capacity of 400,000 metric tons and can produce products of 0.3-1.8 mm in thickness and 820-1,650 mm in width. The steel grades of products include commercial quality (CQ), drawing quality (DQ), deep drawing quality (DDQ) and high strength low alloy steel (HSLA). Coated surfaces include Regular Spangle, Minimized Spangle, Ultra Smooth and Regular Spangle & Skin Pass.

Using the continuous hot dip galvanizing technology of Italian steel equipment maker Danieli and DCC total-radiation vertical annealing furnace technology, Tanggang's new line mainly produces galvalume steel coils, but is also able to produce galvannealed and galfan steel coils.
