Taiwan’s trade deficit drops

Taiwan's Ministry of Finance said that the country's exports rose 29.7% year-on-year in January to $15.3 billion. In December, exports totaled $14.88 billion, up 6.2%. Imports in January rose 46.7% year-on-year to $15.5 billion; December saw imports climb 21.3% to $16 billion. Accordingly, Taiwan registered a trade deficit of $200 million in January against a deficit of $1.2 billion in December.
