Taiwan’s CSC posts lower revenues for January-April

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in April this year its carbon steel sales volume totaled 857,500 metric tons, accounting for 67 percent of domestic sales, while in the January-April period its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 3.58 million mt, accounting for 68 percent of domestic sales.

In April, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 25.43 billion ($846.85 million), down by eight percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating loss totaled NTD 205.25 million ($6.84 million), compared to a NTD 698.82 million loss recorded in the previous month.

In the January-April period this year, CSC’s operating revenues amounted to NTD 103.35 billion ($3.44 billion), decreasing by 20 percent year on year. In the given period, the company’s operating loss totaled NTD 2.58 billion ($86.06 million), compared to a net profit of NTD 7.71 billion recorded in the same period last year.
