Taiwan's basic metal output up 8.3 percent in July from June

Taiwan's industrial production index in July this year remained almost stable compared to June and was up 2.4 percent year on year, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index in July remained almost unchanged compared to the previous month, while rising by two percent year on year.

In July this year, industrial output in the country's basic metal manufacturing sector rose by 8.3 percent and output of metal product manufacturing saw a decrease of seven percent, both compared to the previous month. In addition, on year-on-year basis, in July this year output of the basic metal manufacturing sector grew by 2.5 percent and the metal product manufacturing sector saw a decrease of 0.9 percent in output. 

Meanwhile, in July this year, production in Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry rose by 8.2 percent, while output in the automotive industry was down by 2.7 percent, both year on year.
