Tailor welded blank jv from Arcelor and Baosteel

World's biggest steelmaker Arcelor and Chinese steel producer Baosteel will establish a new tailor welded blank (TWB) plant through a joint venture. According to recent market reports, two companies announced that they have signed the agreement for the joint venture and the construction in Shanghai will start before 2004. The TWB plant which is scheduled to start production in the second half of 2004 will have an initial capacity of 2 million tons per year to be supplied for auto manufacturers in China.
