Sweden-based specialty steel producer Alleima has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Swedish high quality steel product manufacturer Söderfors Steel Operations AB (Söderfors Steel), which will add capabilities in hot rolling of small diameter bars and profiles.

The acquisition, which will enable Alleima to produce bars with a diameter less than 80 mm in high performance materials as nickel base alloys and remelted stainless steel, will expand the company’s offering of advanced materials for the medical and aerospace segments.

The transaction is expected to close during the first half this year.
