Steel workers in Eastern Germany to go on strike from June 2

Market sources report that, as employers could not give a favorable offer to level the working week in east with the west where production standards are pretty high, upon voting steel workers in the Eastern Germany decided to go on strike from June, 2 2003. However, they said that in case their 35-hour working week offer is accepted, they will call off this desicion. According to the statement of the steel industry's employers' federation, it seems like the strike will be actualized because federation emphasized that they will not give a favorable offer unless they catch production standards of the west.
