Steel capacities in China expected to increase

Production capacities of steel making and finished steel products in China are expected to increase 14.8% and 13.9% to around 359.1 million and 379.5 million tons in 2005 respectively. Pig iron output will likely to amount 300.6 million tons in 2005, up 19.4% year-on-year. Crude steel output is expected to increase 18.2% year-on-year to 322.5 million tons.
