SSWL achieves record steel wheel rim output and sales in December

Steel Strip Wheels (SSWL), Indian steel wheel rim producer for the auto sector, achieved its highest-ever monthly production of 902,000 steel wheel rims during the month of December last year, as against 676,900 steel wheel rims in the same month of 2009, recording a growth of 33.5 percent.

SSWL also achieved its highest-ever steel wheel sales in December last year. In the month in question, SSWL sold 901,000 steel wheel rims, compared to 661,000 wheel rims in the corresponding month of 2009, up 36.3 percent.

The producer achieved export sales of 84,052 steel wheel rims during the month of December last year, as against 48,221 wheel rims during the month of December 2009, recording a growth of 74.3 percent.

Meanwhile, SSWL announced that it expects sales of 120,000 wheels to Renault Brazil, against an earlier projection of 105,000, for the final quarter of the financial year 2010-11 ending on March 31.

"SSWL is reasonably confident that this Brazil business will see more upswings in coming months," SSWL said in its statement.
