South Africa's base metal export value up 4.7 percent in Oct from Sept

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in October this year the value of South Africa's exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 10.59 billion ($1.01 billion), increasing by 4.7 percent from the previous month. In the first 10 months of the current year, South Africa's export value of base metals and articles increased by 10.7 percent year on year, reaching ZAR 91.09 billion ($8.71 billion).
 
In October this year, the country's imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 4.90 billion ($468.21 million), up 27.5 percent from September, while in the first 10 months of the year South African imports of base metals and articles thereof rose 25.5 percent year on year to ZAR 42.06 billion ($4.02 billion).
