German plantmaker SMS Meer has announced that it has received an order from Fujian Province-based Chinese steelmaker Fujian Wuhang Stainless Steel Product Co. (Fujian Wuhang) for the supply of the core equipment for the construction of an ultra-modern special steel rolling mill.
The new rolling mill with an annual production capacity of more than 300,000 mt will produce wire rod and bar in coils. The mill is expected to be commissioned at the end of this year.
Liu Weiguo, plant director of Fujian Wuhang, commented, "With these modern core facilities, Fujian Wuhang will be able to manufacture top-quality products in a highly economical manner and with maximum flexibility".
