SMS Demag receives order from Shougang

Germany's SMS Demag signed an agreement with Chinese steel producer Shougang Corporation of Beijing to supply a high-capacity tandem pickling line for the Chinese producer. The new line will enable Shougang to produce high-grade and high-strength strips to be used in the production of automobile parts. The line will be designed to have an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. The line is scheduled to produce its first strip at the end of October 2007.
