SMS Demag receives order from Masteel
Germany's SMS Demag confirmed that it received an order from Chinese steel producer Maanshan Iron and Steel Co Ltd (Masteel) to install a hot strip mill at the producer's plant in
China's southern Anhui province.
The new hot strip mill, which will have an annual
production capacity of 5.5 million tons, will be designed to roll widths of up to 2'130 mm.
The new mill is scheduled to be operational in spring 2007.
