Beijing-based Chinese state-owned group Sinosteel Corporation (Sinosteel) has announced its operational results for 2010.
Accordingly, Sinosteel has posted an operating income of RMB 186 billion ($28 billion) for the whole of 2010, ranking 352nd of the world's Top 500 companies in US magazine Fortune's list of the leading global companies.
In addition, according to Chinese customs, in 2010 Sinosteel's import and export volumes of chrome ore and manganese ore ranked first in China, while its import and export volumes of iron ore, nickel ore and ferrous alloys also ranked among the best in China.
At the end of China's 11th five-year plan period (2006-10), Sinosteel's total assets, operating income and net profit indicated respective increases of 560.2 percent, 744.1 percent and 314.5 percent compared to the end of China's 10th five-year plan period (2001-2005).
Sinosteel is mainly engaged in developing and processing metallurgical mineral resources, in trading and logistics of metallurgical raw materials and products, and in related engineering technical service and equipment manufacture.
