Spanish steelmaker Sidenor has completed the takeover of wire-drawing company Trefusa, which is based near Vitoria in the province of Alava in Spain's Basque region.

Sidenor, whose main shareholder is Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau,  has not issued the cost of the transaction for the purchase of Trefusa, which has an annual production capacity of 35,000 mt with annual profits of €22 million.

However, in a statement regarding the transaction, Sidenor said that the deal "was in line with Sidenor strategy to boost the added value of its products and to offer its customers an increasingly complete service."
