Sichuan steel industry sees gross profit rise 19.53 percent in Q1

According to the statistics bureau of China's Sichuan Province, in the first quarter of the current year the total sales revenue of the local steel industry amounted to RMB 55.7 billion ($8.5 billion), up 42.87 percent year on year, while gross profit climbed up 19.53 percent from the same period of last year to RMB 1.33 billion ($204 million).
 
During the period under review, the sales-output ratio of the local steel industry was 95.77 percent, down 1.12 percentage points year on year. At the same time, total investment of the steel industry in Sichuan Province declined by 16.6 percent year on year to RMB 4.6 billion ($706 million).
