As of May 24, the transaction fee for the rebar futures contract RB2405 will be increased from one ten-thousandth to three ten-thousandths, Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) has announced.

This move signals that the SHFE aims to halt transaction activities of the rebar futures contract RB2405, which may be the next main rebar futures contract, with delivery in the month of May next year. Currently, RB2310 and RB2309 are the largest two contracts.
