Shanxi publishes outdated capacity elimination targets

According to the latest report issued by the government of the Chinese province of Shanxi, in 2011 outdated production capacities are to be eliminated in 190 enterprises in a total of 11 industrial sectors in the province.

Specifically, 4.73 million mt of outdated steelmaking capacities are scheduled to be eliminated in Shanxi Province this year, of which 3.41 million mt is accounted for by 14 blast furnaces at 10 steel facilities of Shougang Group Changzhi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
 
Meanwhile, the outdated capacity elimination target for the cement sector in Shanxi is 13.15 million mt.
