Shanghai No.3 Steel announces price increase

SteelOrbis Shanghai Based on its previous price adjustment, Shanghai No. 3 Steel Plant increased its prices as follows: 1. Medium, thick plate and low alloy plate prices increased RMB 300/mt ($37). 2. Thicker than 20 mm coarse plate prices increased RMB 250/mt ($31). 3. Medium common carbon plate and boiler plate is up RMB 200/mt ($25). Now the price of 8 mm Q235 reached RMB 3,870/mt ($482), that of 10 mm products reached RMB 3,800/mt ($473), and that of 12-20 mm reached RMB 3,720/mt ($463). Taxes are included in these prices and they are effective as of March 21, 2006. Influenced by the steelmakers' price adjustment, shipbuilding plates in Shanghai saw a significant price increase today, on March 23.
