Shanghai exchange contemplates steel futures

The Shanghai Futures Exchange announced that it had completed studies related to issuing wire rod and rebar futures. The exchange will now seek the opinions of government regulators before determining whether to go ahead with the offering. If the exchange’s plan is approved, traders will be able to trade rebar and wire rod quantities with future contracts.
