Shandong Province outlines capacity elimination program for 2011

According to Wang Junmin, vice governor of the Chinese province of Shandong, the provincial government plans to eliminate outdated capacities in eight industries in the current year, affecting a total of 103 enterprises. Mr Wang stated that in 2010 349 enterprises in the province completed their tasks for the elimination of outdated capacities, contributing to a reduction of 22.1 percent in energy consumption per gross domestic product (GDP) unit.
