Shagang Group exports 554’000 tons in Q1

Zhangjiagang Customs Inspection Bureau checked 554'000 tons of steel products exported by Shagang Group in Jiangsu province of Eastern China through the first quarter of 2005. The products, with a total value of $243 million, include 140'000 tons of wire rod, 20'000 tons of rebar, 134'000 tons of continuous casting slab and 260'000 tons of continuous casting billet. It is estimated that Shagang may export 2 million tons of steel products with about $900 million in trade value for 2005.
